Profil Pasien Yang Dilakukan Tindakan Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery Di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode 2020-2023
Spinal disorders refer to abnormalities in the spine anywhere from the neck to the coccyx. Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery (BESS) is a minimally invasive surgical technique that utilizes dual portals with endoscopy to access and address spinal disorders. This research aims to determine the profile of patients who have undergone BESS procedures at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province during the period 2020-2023. This study is a retrospective descriptive research using a cross- sectional technique. The total sample consists of 16 medical records of patients who have undergone BESS procedures. The instrument used in this research is the patients' medical records. The observed variables include the indication for the procedure, age, gender, body mass index (BMI), comorbidities, procedure location, and clinical outcomes. The research results indicate that 50% of the total indications for the procedure are spinal stenosis, 56.3% of the patients are aged
≥60 years, 75% of the patients are male, and 31.3% of the patients' BMI falls into the obesity II category. About 43.8% of the patients have no comorbidities, the majority of procedures are performed in the lumbar region (75%), and the clinical outcomes show improvement in 100% of cases. In conclusion, BESS procedures at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province during the period 2020-2023 are predominantly performed on elderly obese males without comorbidities, targeting the lumbar spine with indications of spinal stenosis, and the clinical outcomes demonstrate improvement
