Analisis Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Subsektor Perkebunan Di Provinsi Riau
The Absorption of labor is one of the supporters of economic development carried out by developing countries and has the aim of creating equitable economic development. The disproportion between growth in the size of the labor force and job creation creates an unemployment issue. The Plantation is an excellent sector in Riau Province which makes a major contribution to economic growth and employment. This study aims: 1) To describe the development of labor absorption in the plantation subsector in Riau Province; 2) To analyze the effect of land area, PDRB, labor force, investment, and minimum wage on labor absorption in the plantation subsector in Riau Province. The research data is secondary data in the form of time series data, namely the period 2016-2020, and cross-section data, namely 12 districts/cities. The data analysis methods used are descriptive analysis to explain the development of labor absorption in the plantation subsector in Riau Province and panel data regression to analyze the factors affecting the labor absorption in the plantation subsector in Riau Province. The results of this study indicate that land area, PDRB, labor force, investment, and the minimum wage simultaneously have a significant effect on labor absorption and partially, land area, PDRB, and labor force are positively related and have a significant effect meanwhile investment and minimum wage have no significant effect on labor absorption in the plantation subsector in Riau Province.
