Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Medis Dan Paramedis Dengan Implementasi Patient Safety Dalam Mengurangi Risiko Infeksi di ICU RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau

Patient safety is a system that is carried out to prevent and correct medication errors in patients. Medical and paramedical knowledge plays an important role because if the implementation of patient safety is based on knowledge, the patient safety behavior shown will last long. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of medical and paramedical knowledge about the implementation of patient safety in reducing the risk of infection at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province. This research design is cross sectional which was conducted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province from December 2023 to January 2024. The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between the level of medical and paramedical knowledge with the implementation of patient safety in reducing the risk of infection (p < 0.006) with a sufficient level of relationship strength and the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional. The researcher concluded that with good knowledge, medical and paramedical staff can implement patient safety goals when providing care.
