Analisa Perubahan Komposisi Dan Ukuran Partikel Oksida Besi Menggunakan Metode Kopresipitasi Dengan Variasi Poly Ethylene Glycol
Research on determination of changes in the composition and size of the magnetic particles of Rokan River Natural Sand has been carried out. The Changes ware carried out by converting it into magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. The sample was separated using an Iron Sand Saparator (ISS) and then followed by separating magnetic and non-magnetic materials using a Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnet and the result called the NdFeB product. The NdFeB product was divided into 3 parts, then the NdFeB product was synthesized using HCL, NH4OH and Poly Ethylene Glycol (PEG) as polymers with variations of PEG-1000, PEG-4000 and PEG-6000 and each product was named according to the polymer, namely PEG- 1000, PEG-4000 and PEG-6000. The magnetic properties such as magnetic susceptibility was characterized using Magnetic Susceptibility equipment, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results of this research show the highest Magnetic Susceptibility value for the PEG-6000 coprecipitation product, namely 29624.2 x 10-5. The results of chemical element composition testing using X-Ray Flourescence (XRF) were found in coprecipitation products with variations of PEG-1000, PEG-4000 and PEG-6000, namely 87.43%, 81.796% and 88.746%, respectively. The results of analysis using IC Meansure on Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images show that coprecipitation products with variations of PEG-1000, PEG-4000 and PEG-6000 revealed an average size of 733,8 ± 256,09 nm ; 702,76 ± 289,91 nm ; and 692,8 ± 228,89 nm, respectively with high particle size homogeneity.
