Stereotip Mahasiswa Papua Terhadap Mahasiswa Non Papua Di Universitas Riau

This research was conducted at Riau University. This study aims to determine stereotypes of Papuan students towards non-Papuan students with stereotypes of non-Papuan students towards Papuan students as well as gender and department relations towards stereotypes. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach. The number of samples in this study was 50 people. This study uses stereotype and discrimination theory which discusses the consequences of given stereotypes. The results of this study show that stereotypes of Papuan students towards non-Papuan students and stereotypes of non-Papuan students towards Papuan students do exist and even so, these stereotypes are believed by both parties that these stereotypes are not generalized. Therefore, some non-Papuan students and Papuan students no longer commit stereotypes and discrimination, although some still provide negative stereotypes. Some students try to maintain good relationships with positive stereotypes that are known because relationships slowly become good because of the individual's ability to interact and solve problems well.
