Akibat Prostitusi Terhadap Masyarakat Kelurahan Bukit Batrem (Ampang Ampang) Kota Dumai

This research was carried out in Bukit Batrem Village (Ampang Ampang) in Dumai City, the aim of this research was to find out about the impact of prostitution on the people of Bukit Batrem Village (Ampang Ampang) in Dumai City. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods in collecting data using observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. The subjects in this research were 11 people along with key informants using purposive sampling techniques based on certain criteria. The results of this research show that the existence of prostitution in Ampang-Ampang began in 1990, prostitution occurred due to economic factors which caused difficulties in meeting life's needs, low education factors, promiscuity and lack of harmony between husband and wife in the household. The existence of prostitution in the Ampang-Ampang area carries various great significance for the surrounding community, both in positive and negative aspects. Regardless of the pros and cons of the surrounding community, some people argue that the practice of prostitution in an area can improve the economy. The existence of prostitution in Ampang Ampang has a major negative impact on society, especially for children's development and community security, karokean music until the morning is very disturbing to the community.
