Potensi Simpanan Karbon Dan Serapan Co2 Di Hutan Mangrove Bandar Bakau Kota Dumai
Increasing CO2 in the atmosphere, Indonesia is committed to reducing greenhouse gas through the FOLU Net Sink program. This effort can be done through carbon calculation in mangrove ecosystems. Mangrove can store and absorb large amounts of carbon, so it can be used in climate change mitigation. This research aimed to determine the composition of the spesies, carbon stock and CO2 absorption in the mangrove forest Bandar Bakau Dumai City. This research used random sampling method with three transect. Sampling intensity was used 2.5%. Each transect have a plot size 10x10 m for observation of tree, 5x5 m for observation of sapling and 2x2 m for observation of seedling. Biomass calculation of stands, roots, and necromass using allometric equations. The soil carbon calculation were the product of Bulk density, C-organic and soil depth. The
research showed that mangrove Bandar Bakau had 7 spesies from 3 families. The carbon stock total and CO2 absorption transect 1 were 84,568 tons ha-1 and 310,087 tons C ha-1, transect 2 were 322,255 tons ha-1 and 1.181,613 ton C ha-1, transect 3 were 149,338 tons ha-1 and 547,577 tons C ha-1. Meanwhile, the average carbon stock and CO2 absorption in Bandar Bakau were 185, 387 tons ha-1 and 679,759 tons C ha-1.
