This research is located in Nagari Guguak VIII Koto District Guguak Regency 50 Cities. This study aims to determine the series of processions of eating lomang in the procession of maminang (Enggagement) of Minangkabau people in Nagari Guguak VIII Koto District Guguak Regency 50 Cities and to determine the symbolic meaning of lomang in the procession of eating lomang in Nagari Guguak VIII Koto District Guguak Regency 50 Cities. This research according to the analytical approach is descriptive qualitative. In this study using data collection techniques ranging from direct observation, in-depth interviews, documentation and triangulation. The research subjects were one key informant and four informants who were the original people of Nagari Guguak VIII Koto who had carried out the procession of eating the lomang before. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the symbolic meaning of lomang in the Minangkabau maminang (Enggagement) procession in Nagari Guguak VIII Koto, Guguak District, 50 Kota Regency, namely as a symbol of early friendship has a holy intention because lomang is made of white glutinous rice, bamboo in lomang means intact strength and banana leaves that wrap lomang contain religious meaning.
