Material is a very important thing to pay attention to because material can be a determining factor in the quality of a product. In the process of purchasing materials, there are many things that must be considered by the customer so that the material purchased can match the required specifications. This observation method is carried out using qualitative methods carried out by direct observation to the field, interviews, and focus group discussions. This observation is carried out on the process and flow process of each water treatment carried out at the Water Treatment Plant, equipment, and materials and chemicals used in each water treatment. After observation, it is known that the factors that cause errors or inaccuracies in the purchase and procurement of materials are the mismatch of specifications and lifetime of each material used, the relatively long delivery time, the comparison of material purchase prices, and the way materials and chemicals are stored that do not meet the standards. Based on observations that have been made, it is known that from each water treatment process in the Water Treatment Plant there are 23 types of main equipment and 18 types of materials and chemicals.
