Perancangan Youth Center Dengan Penekanan Water Conservation Sebagai Penerapan Green Building Di Kota Pekanbaru

In Indonesia, a quarter of the total population is young people. In Pekanbaru City, there has also been an increase, with 334.334 young people. This is in line with the significant development of the younger generation in participating in positive and beneficial activities. Currently in Pekanbaru City, there are only youth facilities in the sports aspect, while other aspects of youth activities have not been facilitated, so they often have to rent a place. Therefore, it becomes very important to provide facilities that support all aspects of youth development activities. Youth Centers, as centers for youth activities, have a significant role in helping youth explore their talents and interests and preventing negative behaviors. The Youth Center is not only necessary for youth development, but also as an effort in addressing environmental challenges, especially related to clean water supply. This Youth Center using Water Conservation emphasis as an application of Green Building is a relevant solution, considering that Pekanbaru City is facing the problem of decreasing water catchment areas and post-rain flooding. This application is in line with the Pekanbaru City Government which has established "Pekanbaru Smart City Madani". Case Study and Combined Strategies methods are used in designing the Youth Center, by collecting existing case studies and then used as references in the design, then calculations and comparisons are made related to Water Conservation in the design of the Youth Center. The Youth Center with an emphasis on Water Conservation has the potential to not only provide facilities that support the development of the younger generation, but also as a sustainable building model in overcoming environmental challenges. Through this design, it is hoped that the Youth Center can become a locomotive of change in an effort to protect the environment and create a better future in Pekanbaru City.
