Cultural Heritage is a legacy in form of a culture from the people that has to be introduced to the community which also has the responsibility for the aspect of securing the legacy and the Cultural Heritage it self. Riau has 63 objects, 9 structures, 32 sites and 2 areas that has been designated as a Cultural Herigate. The diversity of the Cultural Heritage that exist in riau indicates that Riau has so much historical object that can be a research object and play a big role in the development of science and history. The purpose of introducing Cultural Heritage in Riau to the community is to inform to people that Riau has so many Cultural Heritage that has to be maintained and also play a role in keeping safe the Cultural Heritage so that it can be passed down for generation. Cultural Heritage Museum in Pekanbaru is a tourism faclity which contains educational and recreational aspect in order to inform people about the cultural legacy in form of Cultural Heritage through interactive media and digital innovation technology to give a fun educational experience for the people. The Cultural Heritage Museum is also giving place to a tremendous amount of community’s activity related to the Cultural Heritage it self like disscusion, exhibition, and education. All the activity will be supported by an efficient and effective facility. The Collection object in form of Cultural Heritage is supctible to be damaged so it needed a special lighting and a specific weather condition in order to maintain the quality. Therefore resulting in the increased use of electricity. Because of that, it is crucial to have an architectural approach through smart building technology that can manage the building system automatically to minimilize human error that can cause a redundant in use of electricity. Smart Building approach can be applied for the design of Cultural Heritage Museum in Pekanbaru to increase the efficiency of energy and create the optimal use of electricity.
