Perancangan Climate Science Park Dengan Penekanan Kenyamanan Termal Di Pekanbaru
The city of Pekanbaru is currently facing the phenomenon of increasing heat and extreme temperatures with average temperatures varying from 24°C to 32°C (Extreme Radiation). This has made us aware that Pekanbaru is experiencing a climate change emergency. Climate change arises from human activities that open land en masse through land burning (Forest Exploitation), resulting in a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions recorded in the period 1 January 2023 to 28
March 2023, with an area of 131.44 hectares of land burned in Riau Province, recorded. and 7.2 hectares are in Pekanbaru City. The government has implemented strategies to improve sustainable development and low carbon programs, but the climate crisis continues because society is not fully committed to reversing the situation. This is due to a lack of awareness and understanding of climate change and the importance of mitigation, causing obstacles to climate change mitigation efforts. Therefore, there is a need for a forum for informal education, recreation and research about climate and climate change on earth in the form of a Climate Science Park. This Climate Science Park will use an emphasis on thermal comfort to consistently provide thermal comfort to its users as well as act as a model for climate responsive buildings. Qualitative Research Methods are combined with Simulation Design and Modeling Research Methods to gain a deeper understanding of climate phenomena and their problems as well as the use of BIM software to prove that the buildings that have been designed can accommodate thermal fluctuations. So it is hoped that by designing this Climate Science Park, Pekanbaru can increase awareness by educating the public about the climate and its changes.
