ABSTRACT
This study aims to describe the role of women in improving sustainable Kerumutan Margasatwa (SM) tourism destinations. This research was conducted using qualitative research methods with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects of this study were selected as many as 5 informants and 1 key informant, namely members of the cadet reef who have a role in the development of Kerumutan Margasatwa (SM) tourism. The analysis technique in this study uses an inductive technique, namely drawing conclusions from real individual cases into general conclusions. Researchers start with a theory, hypothesis or generalization through observation and data collection. Technical data analysis is also done by grouping data into categories, arranging with patterns, describing with units and choosing which data is most important. The results showed that women around tourism has a very positive impact on the development of tourism and nature, women also play a role in the tourism sector in the economic, social, and environmental fields. The obstacles experienced are gender equality and stereotypes from masculinity that feminism is a weak group, women do not get appreciation for what they have done so far, there are very few forms of nature destruction that can be done by women in the tourism sector but it may be foreign to patriarchy even though if viewed further without realizing it women have done nature conservation and have closeness like mother and child to nature.
