This research was conducted at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence of online games on learning motivation at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru.
This type of research uses quantitative research. The population in this study were all students at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru, with a total of 234 people. The technique used in sampling was based on Suharsimi Arikunto's opinion, by taking 25% of the total population, namely 59 people, using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique that researchers use is simple linear regression.
Based on the results of research entitled "The Influence of Online Games on Student Learning Motivation at SMP IT Aziziyyah Pekanbaru" it can be concluded that there is an influence between online games and student learning motivation. Then, based on the results of a simple linear regression test, it can be concluded that the influence of online games on students' learning motivation has a negative effect, meaning that every time there is an increase in online games there will also be a decrease in students' learning motivation in a downward direction seen from the consistency value of the student learning motivation variable (Y ) 28.888 and the online game regression coefficient (X) is -.455 which states that the addition of 1 online game value will reduce student learning motivation by -.455. The coefficient is negative, meaning that online games (X) have a negative effect on student learning motivation (Y). Furthermore, it can be seen that Fcount is greater than Ftable (7.460>3.159), so Ho is rejected and Ha is iv
