This research is motivated by the condition where public transportation is currently a necessity for society and people use public transportation for several reasons such as relatively cheap fares, easy access, not having private vehicles, not all people are able to use executive transportation. In the field, there are still many AKDP public transports that do not enter the terminal, both for picking up, dropping off and waiting for passengers.
This research aims to analyze AKDP public transport control in Pekanbaru City and identify obstacles in carrying out control. This research uses the theory of control in 2007 which explains that control is carried out by direct control and indirect control. This research uses an explantive qualitative research method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation.
The results of the research show that the control carried out by the Riau Province Transportation Service and related agencies is not optimal and does not have an impact on the existence of AKDP public transportation. The obstacles experienced are the lack of human resources, and applicable regulations, and people's behavior in using public transportation.
