Agricultural extension is a non-formal education for farmers and their families. Agricultural extension officers are expected to act as providers of facilities and infrastructure for farmers, and improve agricultural human resources. The level of development of farmer groups is strongly influenced by the role of extension workers in developing farmer groups. The objectives of this study are: 1) Knowing the characteristics of farmers in horticultural farmer groups in Kuantan Mudik District, 2) Knowing the role of agricultural extension agents in Kuantan Mudik District, 3) Knowing the development of horticultural farmer groups in Kuantan Mudik District, 4) Analyzing the influence of the role of agricultural extension agents in the development of horticultural farmer groups in Kuantan Mudik District. This research was conducted in Kuantan Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The method used in this research is survey. The sampling method is multi-stage random sampling with a total of 60 respondents. Data analysis used is descriptive and structural equation models (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0.The results showed that the role of agricultural extension workers was in the high category, while the development of farmer groups was in the high category. The role of agricultural extension workers has a positive and significant influence on the development of horticultural farmer groups. The R-square value indicate 0,719 or 71,9%. This mean that the effect of the extension worker variable on the development of horticultural farmers group is 71,9% while the remaining 28,1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
