Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Keberadaan Primata Di Desa Semelinang Darat Kecamatan Peranap Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu
Primatas are one of the orders in the mammal class that has a larger brain volume than other animals. Interactions between humans and primatas have been occurring since pre-historic times, but these interactions have not always been good. Bad interactions between primatas and humans have consequences for humans and primatas as well as natural resources and habitats. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This type of research is used in social phenomenology. The qualitative method with a descriptive approach is focused on answering related questions that are focused on answering research questions related to questions of who, what, where, and how an event or experience occurs until finally it can be studied more deeply to find patterns that arise in the event until it gets a conclusion. The results showed that 58% of people in Semelinang Darat Village, Peranap Sub-district, Indragiri Hulu Regency who became informants knew and considered primatas as pests, and the remaining 42% considered primatas not pests. A total of 83% of informants confirmed that damaged primata habitats caused primatas to enter settlements and 17% of informants stated that there was a lack of food in the habitat. This makes primatas look for food in residential areas and causes primatas to become aggressive and disturb the comfort and safety of the community.
