The gender perspective in frankincense management leads to a view or understanding of women's roles, differentiated between nature and gender roles determined socially and culturally. Frankincense (Styrax spp.) is one of the main crops of North Sumatra which has potential to be developed, especially in Aek Nauli I Village, Pollung District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra. Frankincense plays an important role in improving the family economy, seen from the percentage of income sources obtained amounting to 60.81% with an amount of Rp. 1,143,578,000 of the total income of frankincense farmers. In accordance with these results, frankincense is the main commodity in Aek Nauli I Village because it is the main source of income for frankincense farmers. Another source of income is obtained from non-incense farming with a contribution of 24.25% with total income of Rp. 456,150,000 and non-farming with a contribution of 14.94% with total income of Rp. 281,000,000
