ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in Tembilahan Barat Village, Tembilahan Hulu District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The aim of this research is to find out: 1) What is the social capital of fishermen in Tembilahan Barat Village? 2) How is the influence of social capital in increasing the income of fishing families in Tembilahan Barat Village. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population of this study were fishermen who lived in Tembilahan Barat Subdistrict and the sample in this study was 55 respondents. Sampling uses a census. Data collection methods are observation, questionnaires and documentation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is an influence between social capital in increasing the income of fishermen's families. This is proven by the table F value being 4.02 while the calculated F is 304,001. So in this case F calculated is greater than F table, which means Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted. So there is an influence between social capital in increasing the income of fishing families in Tembilahan Barat Village. Then after that, from the results of the T Test it can be seen that the influence of social capital (X) in increasing family income with a sig value of 0.000 and an a value of 0.05 so that sig < a = Ho is rejected (There is an Influence). So the hypothesis in this research is accepted, where social capital and its influence in increasing family income shows very strong results. This is indicated by the positive value of R, namely 0.923. Then the Determination Coefficient (R2) is 0.852 which means that the influence of the independent variable (social capital) on the dependent variable (family income) is 0.852, meaning that the significant contribution of social capital is 85.2% while the remaining 14.8% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
