Penerapan Metode Debat Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Dalam Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Kelas X Di Sma Negeri 3 Siak Hulu
The main aim of this research is to improve students' critical thinking skills in learning history. This is because history learning does not facilitate learning that can improve critical thinking skills. This can be seen from the conditions of history learning using the lecture method. The research method used by researchers is PTK. The research instruments used were teaching modules and data collection instruments, namely teacher, student and test observation sheets. The results of this research concluded that in cycle I teacher activities obtained an average score of 46.87 (fair) and increased in cycle II with an average score of 84.37 (good). Student activities in cycle I obtained an average score of 55.51 (fair) and experienced an increase in cycle II, namely 68.42 (good). Meanwhile, students' critical thinking skills in cycle I obtained a score of 67.63 (fair) and experienced an increase in cycle II, namely 93.05 (very good). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that students' critical thinking skills can improve in learning history by using the debate method in class X at SMA Negeri 3 Siak Hulu.
