This research was conducted in West Minas Village, Minas District, Siak Regency which aimed to determine the use of the national language by Sakai tribe children of SDN 011 students in every activity, ranging from activities at home, play activities and activities at school and also wanted to know the role given by parents and teachers in improving the national language skills of Sakai tribe children of SDN 011 students. In determining the subject of the study, the author uses criteria based on different family backgrounds, in order to get more varied answers to the topics to be discussed. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The number of research subjects was 10 people. The theories used are the Theory of Symbolic Interactionism and the Theory of Socialization. From the results of the study, it was found that Sakai tribe children of SDN 011 students still lack the ability to use the national language when at home and when playing, This is because there is a regional language, namely Sakai language as a language that is always applied and socialized for generations by parents to their children at home and play environments in settlements with the majority of Sakai tribes who of course also use Sakai language. The use of the national language began to be actively used by Sakai tribal children, SDN 011 students in the school environment only due to learning activities that require them to use the national language, especially when learning is given by teachers in class. The ability of Sakai tribe children of SDN 011 students in the national language is obtained in different ways, starting from the socialization of the national language given by their family members at home and some who only get understanding the national language at school.
