Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kecakapan Representasi Matematis Pesertadidik Kelas VII-4 SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru

This research is useful to improve the KRM of SMPN 3 Pekanbaru students by applying the PBL model. This study is in the form of classroom action research, involving subjects as many as 35 students of SMPN 3 Pekanbaru class VII-4. The research was conducted in two cycles. Cycle I had 2 meetings, while cycle II had 3 meetings. The study implementation process was carried out from 14 May to 4 June 2024. The research instrument is divided into 2, namely learning devices containing Learning Objectives Flow (ATP) and teaching modules, as well as data collection instruments containing observation sheets of learner and teacher activities. The findings of the research were that the implementation of PBL model could make the learning process improved and the KRM of students of SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru became more improved. The improvement of students' KRM is indicated by the result of classical KRM analysis. The average value of the initial ability of students' KRM before the action (initial test) was 32.38. The average KRM score of students in cycle I was 68.93. The average KRM score of students in cycle II is 87.46. The average KRM score of students in cycle I was 36.55 higher than the average score of the initial test, while the average KRM of students in cycle II was 18.53 higher than the average score of cycle I. The conclusion can be drawn is that the impelentation of the KRM model in the first cycle is more effective. So, the implementation of the PBL model can improve the learning process and can improve the mathematical representation skills of students of SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru in the 2023/2024 academic year on statistics topic.
