ABSTRACT


The development of rice crops in Kuok District is carried out through agricultural extension activities. The extension program that has been planned has several obstacles in its implementation that come from extension activities and farmer behavior. This study aims to analyze the role of agricultural extension in Kuok District, analyze the behavior of rice farmers in Kuok District and analyze the relationship between the role of agricultural extension with the behavior of rice farmers in Kuok District. This research was conducted in Kuok Village and Empat Balai Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency. This research was conducted from February 2024 to September 2024. The population of this study consisted of 90 farmers, consisting of members of rice farmer groups in Kuok Village (Taping Farmer Group and Sei Ngolan II) and Empat Balai Village (Kunago Farmer Group and Pulai Makmur). The sample consisted of 12 farmer group administrators (taken by census) and 35 farmer group members (taken by simple random sampling). The types of data used were primary and secondary data. The first and second research objectives were analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale measuring instrument. The third objective was analyzed using Spearman rank correlation analysis. The results showed that the role of agricultural extension in Kuok District was in the category of role enough with a score of 3.24, the behavior of rice farmers in agricultural extension in Kuok District was in the category enough with a score of 3.11 and the relationship between the role of agricultural extension with the behavior of rice farmers in Kuok District was at a low level of relationship with a correlation coefficient value of 0.388.
