Dual Carrier Modulation Untuk Mengatasi Dispersion Power Fading (Dpf) Pada Sistem Radio Over Fiber (Rof)
ABSTRACT
In a Radio Over Fiber (ROF) system, when a radio frequency (RF) signal with a double sideband spectrum is transmitted through a dispersive link, fluctuations in the recovered RF signal power, known as Dispersion Power Fading (DPF), occur. Various methods have been employed to address DPF, including Optical Single Sideband (OSSB). The modulation schemes resulting from some of these methods require complex transmitter circuitry. Considering this, a new method is proposed in this study to address DPF, namely Dual Carrier Modulation (DCM). DCM is implemented by modulating an optical carrier signal with an RF signal using two laser diodes. The output from the first laser diode is combined with the second laser diode, which has an optical signal frequency equal to the optical carrier frequency plus the RF signal frequency. At modulation frequencies (fm) of 30 GHz, 40 GHz, and 60 GHz, the DPF levels of the ROF link with direct modulation are 6.3, 7.6, and 7.5, respectively. The DPF levels of the ROF link with the DCM scheme are 0.4, 0.2, and 0.05. At optical wavelengths of 1310 nm, 1490 nm, and 1550 nm, the DPF levels of the ROF link with direct modulation are 0.4, 6.6, and 6.3, respectively. The DPF levels of the ROF link with the DCM scheme are 0.3 and 0.05 at wavelengths of 1490 nm and 1550 nm. This indicates that the DCM method can effectively address DPF..
