Gambaran Farmakoterapi Pada Pasien Dermatitis Atopik Di RSUD Petala Bumi Provinsi Riau
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by recurrent, mild to severe itching. It is often associated with other atopic diseases such as bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. The global prevalence of AD reaches approximately 15-20% in the first decade of life. The chief complaint of atopic dermatitis patients is persistent itching throughout the day, affecting their quality of life. Effective management of AD is essential, consisting of both pharmacotherapy and non-pharmacotherapy. The pharmacotherapy of atopic can be administered through topical and systemic approaches, and a combination of both may also be employed. The goal of this research is to understand the pharmacotherapy landscape for atopic dermatitis patients at Petala Bumi Provincial Hospital in Riau Province. This retrospective descriptive study was conducted at the mentioned hospital, using total sampling to select eligible cases. The findings revealed a total of 47 atopic dermatitis patients in the study. The predominant treatment approach was a combination of topical and systemic therapies, accounting for 36 patients (82.97%) of cases.
