Pengaruh Ekstrak Etanol Buah Seri (Muntingia Calabura) Terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah Tikus Wistar Yang Diinduksi Diet Tinggi Lemak
Increased blood glucose levels can result from excessive glucose intake, impaired glucose regulation in cells, or disrupted insulin secretion. Muntingia calabura fruit contains active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and terpenoids, which are potentially effective in lowering blood glucose levels. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of ethanol extract from Muntingia calabura fruit on blood glucose levels in rats induced by a high-fat diet. The study employed a post-test-only experimental design with 16 male Wistar rats (10 weeks old, weighing 140–300 grams) divided into four groups. The standard diet group received standard feed and distilled water, while the negative control, positive control, and treatment groups were induced with a high-fat diet (50%). The positive control group was given pioglitazone 3.1 mg/kgBW, and the treatment group received Muntingia calabura fruit extract 100 mg/kgBW. After eight weeks, the rats were sacrificed, and blood glucose levels were measured using the enzymatic calorimetric GOD-POD method. The average blood glucose levels in the standard diet, negative control, positive control, and treatment groups were 116.67 ± 14.38, 164.67 ± 15.53, 189.45 ± 22.68, and 228.06 ± 23.03, respectively. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences between the treatment group and the negative control group (p
