Analisis Nilai Tukar Nelayan Gill Net Di Desa Tanah Merah Kecamatan Tanah Merah Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir Provinsi Riau
The Fishermen's Exchange Rate (NTN) is one of the indicators used to measure the relative welfare of fishermen in fishing activities. This study aims to analyze the NTN of gill net fishermen in Tanah Merah Village, Tanah Merah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. This research employs a survey method with census sampling techniques, involving 45 small-scale fishermen using gill net fishing gear with vessel sizes of less than 5 GT. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and literature review. The data analysis was conducted using the Fishermen's Exchange Rate (NTN) calculation method. The results show that gill net fishermen with 1 GT vessels achieved an NTN of 1.09, those with 2 GT vessels achieved an NTN of 1.19, fishermen with 3 GT vessels achieved an NTN of 1.26, and those with 4 GT vessels achieved an NTN of 1.36. The NTN values obtained indicate that all fishermen have an NTN above 1, suggesting that they are capable of meeting their needs and can be classified as prosperous. This study concludes that the larger the vessel size, the higher the fishermen's welfare level.
