Prevalensi Kasus Kanker Paru Di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Sebelum Dan Selama Pandemi Covid–19

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on health services both directly and indirectly. Not only does it have an impact on health services, but it also has a social impact on people who need health services. One of the groups affected by this pandemic is lung cancer patients who have symptoms that are almost the same as those of COVID-19. The aim of this research is to determine the prevalence of lung cancer cases in Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The design of this research is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach. This study used medical record data from lung cancer patients from April 2018 – March 2022. Medical records were selected based on exclusion and inclusion criteria. There were 228 cases divided into 99 cases in the pre-pandemic period and 129 cases during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was an increase in cases of 30 cases or 30,3%. In the period before the COVID-19 pandemic (April 2018 – March 2020) cases were dominated by cases over 40 years old, male, adenocarcinoma cancer type, advanced cancer staging (IIIB – IV) and patient performance status PS 1. In The period during the COVID- 19 pandemic (April 2020 – March 2022) was dominated by cases over 40 years old, male, adenocarcinoma cancer type, advanced cancer staging (IIIB – IV) and patient performance status PS 1. None significant differences between the COVID- 19 period regarding the type of cancer, staging, and performance status of lung cancer patients treated at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province (p value > 0.05).
