Gambaran Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma (UTUC) di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2019-2023

Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma (UTUC) is a malignant tumor that arises from urothelial cells lining the upper urinary tract from the renal calyces to the ureteral orifice. Several risk factors that can cause UTUC include smoking, excessive use of analgesic drugs, exposure to arsenic, arachidonic acid, and exposure to chemicals in the workplace such as hydrocarbons, coal, and carbonated drinks. The most common symptoms of UTUC are macroscopic or microscopic hematuria, followed by low back pain. This study is a retrospective descriptive study with data obtained from medical records conducted from October to November 2024. The sample in this study was Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma (UTUC) patients at Arifin Achmad Hospital from January 2019 to December 2023. Samples were taken using the total sampling technique and obtained samples as many as 7 medical records. The study found that UTUC cases occurred frequently in 2023 (42.9%). Most UTUC patients were in the 60-69 years age group (42.9%), male gender (71.4%), with the most tumor staging at T3 (71.4%), N0 (71.4%), and M0 (57.1%). The most common location of UTUC was in renal (57.1%) with the most tumor grade being high grade (85.7%), and without a history of smoking (100%). The most common treatment received by patients was radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) (85.7%).
