Respon Tingkah Laku Ikan Gurami (Osphronemus Gouramy) Terhadap Aliran Listrik Pada Alat Tangkap Setrum Rakitan
This study examines the behavioral response of gourami fish (Osphronemus goramy) to electric current using a homemade electric fishing device. The experiment was conducted on 20 juvenile gourami fish measuring 4-5.5 cm in a laboratory setting. The electrofishing process utilized two iron rods as cathode and anode with a 12-volt power supply. Results showed that the average time required for each fish response stage was 47.5 seconds. Three fish died during the experiment due to injuries. Stunned fish were characterized by inverted bodies, floating, and stiffness. Fish stunning and recovery times correlated with the voltage used. Smaller fish tended to be more resistant to electrofishing but required longer recovery times. Post-recovery, several fish died within the first three days. This research provides important insights into the impact of electrofishing on the survival and welfare of gourami fish.
