Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Jumlah Limfosit Cd4 Sebelum Terapi Antiretroviral Pada Pasien Hiv Di Pmi Provinsi Riau
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an RNA virus that specifically attacks the human immune system, marked by a decrease in CD4 lymphocyte counts, making the body susceptible to infections. CD4 lymphocyte counts are used as a primary indicator of the progression stage of HIV infection. This study aims to analyze factors influencing CD4 lymphocyte counts before antiretroviral therapy (ART) in HIV patients at Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI) Riau Province using a cross-sectional and quantitative analytical design. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS with the Mann-Whitney test and one-way ANOVA. Data from 90 HIV patients showed that 87.8% were male, 54.4% were aged 25-49, 67.8% were at clinical stage I, and 60% were infected through unsafe sexual practices. Bivariate analysis revealed that age, clinical stage, and transmission route were significantly associated with CD4 lymphocyte counts (p0.05). In conclusion, advanced age, higher clinical stages, and transmission routes involving injection drug use (IDU) are associated with lower CD4 lymphocyte counts in HIV patients.
