Perilaku Masyarakat Dalam Mengelola Sampah Rumah Tangga Di Nagari Tanjung Bungo Jorong Kubu Tongah
Household waste management is a key element in efforts to achieve environmental sustainability. Household waste management behaviors include choosing waste management options such as composting, recycling, and participating in separate waste collection programs. Furthermore, evaluating the role of local government in providing support and necessary facilities to facilitate sustainable household waste management is crucial. This study is a quantitative research study with a descriptive approach. The population size is 174 residents, with a sample of 65 obtained using the Slovin formula. Data collection is conducted through involves primary data via questionnaires and secondary data. Household waste management in Jorong Kubu Tongah Tanjung Bungo faces significant challenges due to limited infrastructure such as Waste Collection Points (TPS), waste trucks, and carts, coupled with a distant Final Disposal Site (TPA) that complicates waste management. However, the village government's role in providing socialization, training in crafting from waste materials, and community cleaning campaigns has had a positive impact. Survey results indicate that a majority of respondents have participated in socialization activities (76.9%), training (63.1%), and community clean-up drives (67.7%) organized by the village.Despite existing infrastructure challenges, active participation of the community in these programs reflects an increasing awareness of the significance of improved waste management practices.
