Faktor-Faktor Yang Memengaruhi Permintaan Mi Instan (Studi Kasus: Mahasiswa Universitas Riau)
The increasing consumption and sales of instant noodles indicates that there is also increasing demand. Students are potential target consumers of instant noodles because students tend to be busy with their activities, choosing to eat practical foods. This study aims to (1) analyze the effect of instant noodle prices, complementary goods prices, pocket money, place of residence, and gender on the demand for instant noodles among students of Riau University, (2) analyze the dominant factors influencing the demand for instant noodles among students of Riau University. The study was conducted at Riau University with a sample size of 100 respondents using the Slovin formula. The sampling method used purposive sampling, using the criteria of active undergraduate students of Riau University and instant noodle consumers. The analysis used is multiple linear log regression. The results of the study showed that (1) the factors that influence the demand for instant noodles among students of Riau University are the price of instant noodles, the price of complementary goods (chicken eggs), pocket money, place of residence, and gender with a coefficient of determination value of 53,20 percent. (2) The dominant variable that has an influence is the price variable of instant noodles and the price of complementary goods.
