Persepsi Siswa Kelas X Di SMAN 3 Tualang Terhadap Materi Biologi Dalam Penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka
This study aims to understand the perceptions of Grade X students at SMAN 3 Tualang towards biology materials in the context of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The main objective of this study is to explore how this curriculum change affects the way students understand and interact with biology materials, as well as provide benefits for teaching and educational policies in schools. The methodology used is a qualitative descriptive approach through the distribution of questionnaires, teacher and student interviews. The participants of this study were students of Grade X who had participated in biology learning for one year using the Merdeka Curriculum. The results showed that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum generally increased students' involvement in the biology learning process. Students reported that the more flexible and contextualized teaching methods made them more interested and easier to understand the material. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, it is concluded that the students have a perception in the "good" category with a percentage of 71%. The results also show that students have good perceptions regarding the indicators studied with mastery or absorption of material (74%), understanding or knowledge (70%), and evaluation (69%). In order to improve the assessment aspect of learning, and thus improve the learning process and overall student understanding, additional emphasis needs to be placed on assessment strategies that actively involve students, such as self-reflection and peer assessment. This can help educators to develop better biology learning strategies. In conclusion, although the Merdeka Curriculum brings positive changes in biology learning, it still requires adjustments in teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Recommendations are made to improve teaching and assessment approaches to be more inclusive to maximize the understanding and participation of all students in the learning process.
