Rancang Bangun Aplikasi Android Untuk Pengenalan Pembelahan Sel Pada Mata Pelajaran Biologi Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas Menggunakan Teknologi Augmented Reality
Biology learning at SMA N 2 Pangkalan Kuras often requires practical sessions for certain learning topics. However, the lack of a dedicated laboratory room and practical tools has resulted in the cancellation of practical learning sessions. One topic that requires high visualization is cell division. This research aims to design and develop an Android application based on Augmented Reality (AR) with a markerless method as a practical tool for introducing the cell division process. The markerless method is used so that the application can be accessed anytime and anywhere without relying on physical markers. This research uses the R&D method, and the application development follows the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. The markerless AR-based Android system for cell division utilizes a text editor in Visual Studio Code, programmed in C#, and employs the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm. The Android application testing for cell division recognition using AR technology follows the ISO 25010 standard, achieving 100% in the functional suitability aspect. The compatibility test also scored 100% for every smartphone that installed, ran, and uninstalled the app. Performance efficiency testing showed that the camera system could detect flat surfaces such as tables, walls, and floors. The average response time test indicated that the application’s response speed was highest on newer Android devices with larger RAM. The user experience was rated as "excellent."
