Rancang Bangun Aplikasi Augmented Reality (AR) Untuk Pembelajaran Struktur Dan Fungsi Tumbuhan Berbasis Android Dengan Metode Marker Based Tracking
With the advancement of science and technology, teachers are expected to become more intelligent and creative in delivering learning materials. One of the topics often taught is the structure and function of plants, where students typically refer to pictures in books. However, the images in books are often not detailed enough, making it difficult for students to understand. Based on interviews with science teachers at SMP NEGERI 46 PEKANBARU, there are challenges in the teaching process, such as insufficient samples and less engaging teaching media, which make the learning process less effective. With Augmented Reality (AR), students can view clearer and more interactive 3D representations, helping to simplify the understanding of complex concepts. Additionally, data shows that 70% of students require engaging learning media, 50% struggle to comprehend material through traditional books, and around 85% believe that using more engaging educational media would increase their motivation and interest in learning. As a solution, the author proposes the development of an AR-based learning application that introduces the structure and function of plants by integrating virtual and real-world objects. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method and the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) approach, which involves six stages: concept, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. The result is an innovative and effective AR application that facilitates learning about plant structure and function, especially in the digital era, by showcasing attractive 3D objects to enhance students' interest in learning. In conclusion, this research can help address students' difficulties in understanding plant structure and function.
