Persepsi Petani Terhadap Diversifikasi Kelapa Sawit dan Aren di Kecamatan Bandar Sei Kijang Kabupaten Pelalawan
Palm oil prices often fluctuate, resulting in unstable farmer incomes. Therefore, farmers implement the diversification of oil palm and sugar palm as an effort to increase income and optimize available oil palm land. This research aims to determine farmers' perceptions of oil palm and sugar palm diversification. This research was conducted in Kiyap Jaya and Lubuk Ogung village in Bandar Sei Kijang District, Pelalawan Regency. The sample used was 30 farmers, namely 6 diversification farmers and 24 oil palm monoculture farmers. The data analysis tools used are Likert scale, descriptive analysis, and Spearman Rank. The research method used was purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Based on research, to find farmers' perceptions, 5 diffusion of inovation variables were used, namely relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability and observability. The results showed that farmer’s perception of palm oil and sugar palm diversification is moderate. The correlation between farmer’s perception and age, farmer experience, land area, and farmer’s income are strong; The correlation between farmer’s perception and education is very low; The correlation between farmer’s perception and social environment and stimulus insensity are quite strong.
