Urban farming is an optional agricultural activity carried out in urban areas by utilizing limited land or space to produce agricultural products in urban areas. This research aims to identify the characteristics of women farmers, the use of communication media and information sources, supporting institutions in implementing urban farming, as well as identifying the communication behavior of women farmers in improving urban farming at BPP Rumbai, Pekanbaru City. The research method used is a survey method. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive from Likert results. The results of the research show that in the communication behavior of women farmers there are several influencing factors consisting of three factors, namely knowledge, attitudes and skills. Where among these three factors, the knowledge of women farmers is classified as quite good, while the attitudes of women farmers and the skills of women farmers are classified as very good. Women farmer groups are expected to be able to increase the knowledge and skills of women farmers both individually and in groups. As well as making greater use of communication media regarding urban agricultural information for the future.
