Karakteristik Habitat Koloni Lebah Kelulut di Desa Baturijal Hulu Kecamatan Peranap Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu
The Kelulut bee is a species of honey-producing stingless bee from the Apidae family. Kelulut bees live in colonies with numbers of 300-80,000 bees. One of the conditions for the survival of kelulut bees is the availability of sustainable food sources, to support honey production and colony development. The aim of this research is to determine the habitat characteristics and food sources of kelulut bees in Baturijal Hulu Village, Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency. The research was carried out using direct observation methods in the field by making sample plots and measuring temperature, humidity and light intensity. The results of the research showed that 3 types of kelulut bees were found, namely Heterotrigona itama, Tetragonula laeviceps, and Geniotrigona thoracica with a food source of 30 types of flowering plants. The temperature, humidity and light intensity in Baturijal Hulu Village are ideal for the growth and development of kelulut bee colonies, so they have quite high potential for the development of kelulut bee cultivation.
