Analisis Hubungan Kekasaran Permukaan Perkerasan Terhadap Biaya Operasional Kendaraan Pada Jalan Kubang Raya Kota Pekanbaru
Roads as transportation infrastructure have a very vital role in people's lives. Therefore, the condition of the road surface is an important aspect because it directly affects the comfort and efficiency of road use by all users. The level of road surface roughness is an indicator of pavement condition, which not only impacts driving comfort but also affects vehicle operational efficiency. This study aims to analyze the relationship between pavement surface roughness of Jalan Kubang Raya in Pekanbaru City with vehicle speed and Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC). Road surface roughness was measured using the International Roughness Index (IRI) method, which calculates the roughness value by summing the cumulative elevation changes of the road surface in the longitudinal direction, then dividing it by the distance or length of the road surface. To determine VOC, the Pacific Consultant International (PCI) method is used, which calculates operating costs per kilometer by taking into account vehicle speed, so that there is a relationship between vehicle speed, road conditions, and VOC. The analytical methods used in this study are regression analysis to determine the effect of surface roughness on vehicle speed and VOC, and correlation analysis to determine the relationship between surface roughness and vehicle speed and VOC. Based on the results of regression analysis between IRI and VOC using PCI, the equation Y = 3.509 + 122X for cars, Y = 9.530 + 502X for two-axis trucks, and Y = 18.094 + 615X for three-axis trucks were obtained. The correlation analysis showed a mean coefficient of 0.427 between IRI and VOC, indicating a moderately strong positive relationship between road surface roughness and VOC. Thus, it can be concluded that an increase in IRI value is in line with the increase in VOC required to travel on Kubang Raya Road. The higher the road surface roughness, the greater the cost incurred by motorists.
