Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Asetat Dari Asetaldehida Dengan Desain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi (T-101)
ABSTRACT
Currently, the development of the chemical industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly. This is can be seen by the establishment of several chemical factories in Indonesia. One type of chemical that has a very large influence on the chemical industry in Indonesia is acetic acid (CH3COOH). This acetic acid product has a fairly wide market such as the Purified Terepthalic Acid (PTA) industry, ethyl acetate industry, textile industry, rubber thread industry and is also used as a semi-finished material to make chemicals, such as vinyl acetate, cellulose acetate, acetic anhydride, and chloro acetate. The purpose of designing this factory is to meet domestic acetic acid needs, to increase foreign exchange through exports of acetic acid production, to reduce the dependence of domestic industry on acetic acid imports, and to open new jobs for residents around the industrial area. The location of this factory is planned to be established in the Batam City area, Riau Islands Province with a production capacity of 70,000 tons/year, using a distillation tower (T-101) as the main equipment. Economic analysis shows that the acetic acid plant is feasible to be established with an IRR value of 22.75%; ROI 38.287%, PBP 2.61 years; and BEP 19.6%.
