Gambaran Sikap Mahasiswa Kedokteran Terhadap Keselamatan Pasien Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru
Patient safety is a crucial aspect of healthcare that requires awareness and a positive attitude from medical students as future healthcare providers. This study aimed to describe medical students' attitudes toward patient safety and analyze the differences based on their length of education. A total of 84 medical students at Arifin Achmad General Hospital Pekanbaru participated in this study. Data were collected using the APSQ III questionnaire, which includes nine key dimensions, and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 82.1% of students demonstrated a positive attitude toward patient safety, while 17.9% had a negative attitude. The Teamwork dimension recorded the highest score (86.9%), while Error Reporting had the lowest score (34.5%). Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between the length of education and students' attitudes toward patient safety (p = 0.003), with second-year students showing more positive attitudes (95%) compared to first-year students (70.5%). These findings emphasize that medical education plays a critical role in shaping awareness of patient safety, focusing on strengthening training related to error reporting culture and teamwork.
