Beban Pencemaran Dan Status Mutu Air Dengan Indeks Pencemaran Di Sungai Umban Sari Kota Pekanbaru, Provinsi Riau
This study aims to determine the pollution load and water quality status using the pollution index in the Umban Sari River. The study was conducted from January to March 2024 in the Umban Sari River. It was carried out using a field survey method to collect water quality data. Water samples were taken using grab sampling, with samples collected 3 times over a 3-month period at 3 research stations. The pollution load was determined by calculating the actual and maximum load values with parameters such as TSS, BOD, COD, Nitrate, and Total Phosphate. The water quality status was assessed using the pollution index with 9 parameters in accordance with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 27 of 2021, namely pH, DO, BOD, COD, TSS, Total Phosphate, Nitrate, and Total Coliform. The pollution load and water quality status with the pollution index were compared with the Class 2 water quality standard based on PPRI No. 22 of 2021. The results of the study show that the Umban Sari River can no longer accommodate the pollution load from BOD, with an actual load value reaching 2,914.95 kg/day. The water quality status, based on the pollution index, places the river in the moderately polluted category, with index values of 5.17 for station 1, 5.51 for station 2, and 5.49 for station 3.
