Efektivitas Penggunaan Kit Mekanika Pada Pesawat Sederhana Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelasviii Pada Smp Negeri 2 Dayun
Practical activities are an inseparable part of science learning activities. Science learning through practical activities in the Laboratory is an activity that provides direct experience to students. The process of absorbing learning material can be received directly through the use of media in experimental activities, one of which is the use of media, namely KIT Mechanics. Using the Mechanics KIT in science learning will encourage students to learn simple machines as a whole, not just memorizing natural knowledge concepts, but also learning what, why and how these concepts were discovered through experimental activities in the laboratory. By using KIT Mechanics, it is hoped that students will receive learning material optimally, so that their learning motivation will arise, and it is hoped that their learning achievement will increase. However, in reality, the Mechanics KIT is still not widely used when studying, which causes the Mechanics KIT that is not used to become damaged so that it cannot be used again. The aim of this research is to determine and describe the learning outcomes of class VIII SMP students and to determine the effectiveness of using the Mechanics KIT on simple aircraft material. The benefit for students is that it can improve cognitive learning outcomes, while the benefit for teachers is that it can be used as a more contextual alternative for physics learning. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 2 Dayun starting from September to October 2024. The type of research used was Quasi - Experimental Design with the research design being Posttest-Only Control Design. The research population was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Dayun. Sampling was based on normality and homogeneity tests from previous material repetition results. Determining the class to be sampled is determined by drawing lots in homogeneous classes. The data collection instrument used was a written test on cognitive learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and inferential analysis. The research results show that there are differences in the learning outcomes of students whose learning uses KIT Mechanics and those who do not use it. The learning outcomes of classes that use KIT Mechanics through simple aircraft material are in the Good category with a percentage of 70.10%.
Meanwhile, classes that use conventional learning are in the poor category with a percentage of 55.55%. The results of the hypothesis test using Mann Whitney obtained a result of 0.001, which means it is less than 0.05. So inferentially there is a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. Based on the research results, the learning outcomes of the experimental class were higher than those of the control class, so learning using the Mechanics KIT can be used as an alternative for teachers in physics science learning. Similar research can also be carried out for different materials and school levels. Thus, learning using KIT Mechanics can effectively improve students' cognitive learning outcomes because there are significant differences between the experimental class and the control class.
