Penari Anak Kuda Lumping Krido Turonggo Betuah Manunggal (Ktbm) Di Desa Bathin Betuah Kecamatan Mandau Kabupaten Bengkalis
Kuda Lumping is a traditional Javanese art form that remains prevalent in rural communities and is frequently performed at various cultural and celebratory events such as weddings, circumcision ceremonies, and village cleansing rituals. This art form is deeply intertwined with mystical elements, where dancers often experience trance-like states during performances, making it not only a form of entertainment but also a spiritual and religious practice. This study aims to explore the role of children in Kuda Lumping, their motivations for joining, and how parents perceive their participation. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews with nine informants, including five child dancers, two group leaders, and two parents. The findings reveal that most children join Kuda Lumping due to personal interest, cultural fascination, and family or environmental influences. Beyond entertainment, this traditional art form fosters social cohesion within communities and serves as a means of preserving cultural heritage. However, children's involvement in Kuda Lumping has led to varied parental perspectives, with some supporting their participation while others express concerns, particularly regarding the mystical aspects of the performances. This study provides insights into how Kuda Lumping continues to thrive within the social dynamics of rural society and how younger generations contribute to its preservation amidst modern changes.
