Peran African Union (Au) Dalammenanggapi Persoalan Politisasi Upah Di Nigeria

Wage politicization and social inequality in Nigeria have been significant issues over the past decade. Although the African Union (AU) has issued various mandates related to social justice and labor welfare, their impact on Nigeria's economic and social conditions remains debatable. This study aims to analyze how the AU has responded to wage politicization and social inequality in Nigeria from 2012 to 2022.

The findings show that although the AU has issued several policies to address social inequality and improve labor welfare, their implementation has been hindered by weak coordination with the Nigerian government, lack of law enforcement, and domestic political interests. Consequently, social protests continue, and social inequality remains a major issue in Nigeria.

This study concludes that the AU needs to strengthen its monitoring mechanisms and enforcement of policies while encouraging closer synergy between the Nigerian government and international actors to more effectively address the issue of wage politicization.
