Tingkat keberhasilanpenatalaksanaan striktur urethra anterior dengan teknik epa di rsud arifin achmad provinsi riau tahun 2018-2023

Urethral stricture is a condition characterized by the narrowing of the urethral
lumen due to injury or fibrotic tissue formation, leading to impaired bladder
emptying function. This study evaluates the Excision and Primary Anastomosis
(EPA) technique, a surgical procedure aimed at restoring urethral continuity by
excising the fibrotic segment and anastomosing the healthy urethral ends. This
technique is associated with a high long-term success rate of approximately 90-
95%.This study employs a retrospective descriptive design conducted over the
period January 2018 – December 2023. The sample consists of secondary data
from medical records of patients diagnosed with anterior urethral stricture who
underwent EPA at RSUD Arifin Achmad, Riau Province. A total sampling method
was applied, yielding 28 medical record samples. The findings indicate that
among 28 analyzed patients, 26 (92.86%) did not experience postoperative
complications. Meanwhile, uroflowmetry data were available for 18 patients,
demonstrating a mean postoperative Qmax of 19.844 ± 11.3676 ml/s, with a range
of 3.9 – 41.4 ml/s.
