ABSTRACT
The Kampar region in Riau has rich tourism potential, including Muara Takus Temple as one of the relics of Hindu-Buddhist civilization in Sumatra, an important proof of the glory of the Srivijaya Kingdom and has an irreplaceable cultural attraction. Despite its historical and cultural appeal, Muara Takus Temple faces challenges in tourism management, such as a decrease in the number of tourists and inadequate facilities. As a national cultural heritage, Muara Takus Temple needs to be preserved through good management, which can also function as a center for research and education. The Design with Nature approach was chosen to harmonize cultural heritage, natural beauty, and the environment, by using environmentally friendly materials and involving local communities in managing the area. This concept is relevant to global challenges, such as climate change, making Muara Takus Temple an attractive and environmentally friendly tourist destination. The development of the Muara Takus Temple Park Tourism Object as a means of education and recreation is very necessary to create harmony between culture, humans, and nature, and produce a sustainable heritage for future generations. The tracing method is used to trace the architecture of Muara Takus Temple, which applies elements of balance between the elements of the human body, namely air, fire, water, and wind. The creation of this temple is also related to the direction of the wind and the influence of natural landscapes such as rivers, lakes, and mountains. The mandala concept used not only reflects the spirituality of Buddhism, but also functions as an art mandala that embodies recreation and education. The relationship between this concept and the theme creates synergy between humans and nature, thus forming a harmonious mandala, creating a profound experience for visitors.
