ABSTRACT
Pekanbaru City, the capital of Riau Province, has various major events or events every year, even every few months. This is because Pekanbaru City is experiencing development and growth in the economic, business, and tourism sectors, where demand is increasing for venues for events, businesses, and exhibitions that can accommodate various types of sectors. These events or events are Pekanbaru City's anniversary, government events, exhibitions, music festivals, cultural festivals, grand tabligh, celebrations, and others that are routinely held in Pekanbaru City. Therefore, the Convention and Exhibition Center in Pekanbaru City is very much needed because later it will be a place that can be used to accommodate these major events or events. The presence of the Convention and Exhibition Center in Pekanbaru City is expected to be able to meet the needs of organizers and visitors for buildings with large spaces that can accommodate many people in one place with very adequate facilities. In addition, the presence of the Convention and Exhibition Center in Pekanbaru City can also increase growth in the economic, business, and tourism sectors in the future. The research method that will be used in designing this Convention and Exhibition includes primary and secondary data in the form of literature studies and comparative studies. This building is designed with an Eco-Culture Architecture approach so that the building can display a building that is in harmony between human ideas and nature, a good blend of ecological environments and distinctive cultural characteristics. It is hoped that the design of the Convention and Exhibition in Pekanbaru City can maximize the principles of Eco-Culture Architecture, space requirements, user needs, and other architectural needs that can be met.
