Struktur Komunitas Gastropoda Di Kawasan Pesisir Kelurahan Parupuk Tabing, Kota Padang, Sumatera Barat
This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the structure of the gastropod community in the coastal area of Parupuk Tabing Village, Padang City, West Sumatra. Knowing the structure of the gastropod community in an area has a major impact on the sustainability of the area. This is because the living conditions of gastropods can be an illustration of the water quality in the area. Therefore, research is needed related to gastropod community structure in coastal areas or intertidal zones. This research was conducted in October 2024 with a field survey method, using three research stations, and each station has three transects, with each transect consisting of three 1x1 m plots. Samples that had been taken were then analyzed at the Marine Biology Laboratory of the Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Riau University. Parameters measured included gastropod species, individual abundance, relative abundance, diversity, dominance, uniformity, gastropod community similarity between stations, and distribution patterns. Seven gastropod species were found in the coastal area of Parupuk Tabing Village, namely Cellana radians, Nerita plicata, Littoria angulifera, Turbo bruneus, Lottia pelta, Cellana exarate, and Rapana venosa. Gastropod richness at the research station ranged from 16.200–22.500 ind/Ha, while richness in the three tidal subzones ranged from 17.900–25.900 ind/Ha. The level of diversity found was included in the low category (H' = 0.40-1.48), while the species uniformity obtained was classified as low uniformity (E = 0.36-0.76) with a group distribution pattern. The gastropod community was dominated by Littoria angulifera species, but the community similarity at stations II and III was similar with a value of 53.84%.
